For the second straight game, NU made quick work of its opponent in the 2018 Asean School Games
After a quiet first game, Terrence Fortea exploded with a big bang as Nazareth School of National University continued rolling in the 2018 Asean School Games.
Fortea scored 26 points, sprinkling around six triples in the process, and the Bullpups gunned down Singapore, 117-59, last Monday at the Gem In mall in Shah Alam, Malaysia.
In all, the Batang Gilas stalwart was an efficient 10-for-14 from the field while also tallying three assists and three steals.
He was backstopped by Bacolod recruit Harold Alarcon who had 18 points, three rebounds, and three steals as well as versatile forward Dom Dayrit who had 15 markers and eight rebounds.
NU found itself in a close contest and the Singaporeans were only down by three after the opening salvo until Fortea spearheaded a 29-point second quarter that broke the game wide open.
The Bullpups would never look back from there and decimated their opponents by a score of 91-36 from the second to the fourth periods.
Without a doubt, the real Fortea showed up in this one after a low-key, for his standards, 11-point performance in their tournament-opener.
Freego-backed Team Philippines now turns its attention to Malaysia which had just upset Thailand.
Already with wins over Brunei and Singapore, NU will be competing against the best young talent Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand have to offer.
