TERRIFIC 12: Two Pinoy teams to see action in new Macau tilt
Come September, the Asia League will be back in business to present the Terrific 12, a tournament that will feature 12 of the top club teams in the East and Southeast Asian region as the name suggests.

The recently-concluded Summer Super 8 tournament is just the start.

Come September, the Asia League will be back in business to present the Terrific 12, a tournament that will feature 12 of the top club teams in the East and Southeast Asian region as the name suggests.

The Guangzhou Long Lions, winners of the Super 8 tournament in Macau last week, will be absent this time around but the Chinese Basketball Association is still well-reprented with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers seeing action anew.

Joining the Flying Tigers from China are the Shandong Hi-speed Golden Stars and the Zhejiang Guangsha Lions.

From South Korea, Super 8 finalist Seoul Samsung Thunders will return as well together with the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus.

2017 Super 8 champion Chiba Jets will banner the Japanese B.LEAGUE. Joining the Jets from Japan are the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins and the Ryukyu Golden Knights.

Taipei is also coming in strong for the Terrific 12 as the Taiwan Super Basketball League will send the Fubon Braves and the Yulon Luxgen Dinos.

The Philippines will also have two teams in the Terrific 12 set for September 18-23 in Macau although the names are yet to be determined.

Unlike the Super 8 which featured an all-local lineup, the Terrific 12 will allow teams to feature two imports.

NLEX and Blackwater represented the Philippines via the PBA in the 2018 Super 8. Both teams ended up with identical 2-1 cards in group play but only the Road Warriors advanced to the semis. NLEX finished fourth behind Guangzhou, Samsung, and the Etland Elephants.
