Mandaluyong and Makati are sharing the second spot in the standings
Mandaluyong and Makati have only stayed hot in the 2018 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.
The El Tigre followed the lead of Ray Parks Jr. to outclass luckless Rizal, 65-51, last Tuesday at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo.
The ABL champion and MVP scored 22 points while also collecting six rebounds and three assists as the visitors outplayed the home team by a score of 36-22 in the first half.
JP Cauilan and Thomas Torres only joined in on the fun with eight and seven points, respectively, to help Mandaluyong improve to 4-1.
In the day’s other game, Makati continued its rise with an 86-71 rout of General Santos.
Philip Paniamogan turned in his best outing in the season with 28 points while fellow ex-pro Jeckster Apinan also had 11 markers and nine boards as the Skyscrapers rose to a similar 4-1 slate.
Their respective losses dropped the Crusaders and the Warriors to 1-4.
