MPBL: Stars shine brighter than Lanterns
Visiting Manila had no problems whatsoever in getting the better of home team Pampanga

Manila started strong and finished even stronger to keep in step with the top teams in the leaderboard in the 2018 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.

Chris Bitoon led a total of five players in double-digits as the visiting Stars overwhelmed home team Pampanga for a 100-75 rout last Saturday at the Angeles University Foundation Gym.

Bitoon scored 22 points on top of nine assists and four rebounds while Adrian Celada and Aris Dionisio chippined in 16 and 13 markers, respectively, in the visitors’ third win in four games.

John Lopez and Reil Cervantes then merged for 21 points and 12 rebounds as Manila started with a 29-point first quarter and a finished with a 32-point fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, Paranaque got back on track after surviving Pasay, 73-69.

Harold Arboleda was all over the place with 23 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists for the now 2-2 Patriots.

With their respective losses, the Lanterns and the Voyagers dropped to 2-2 and 1-3, respectively.
