The Gerald Anderson-led Blue Team ran roughshod over the Daniel Padilla-led Red Team, 113-75, in the third edition of the Star Magic All-Star Game, Sunday evening at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

The Red Team had a great start in the first five minutes but completely lost their lead due to Anderson and Young JV's sweet shooting. The Blue team closed the opening frame with a comfortable 10-point cushion, 24-14.

From that first quarter storm, the Blue Team never looked back and dominated the whole match. They registered their biggest lead of 43 points, 111-68, at the fourth quarter courtesy of a Luis Hontiveros jumper.

Red team's shooting-guard Padilla finished the friendly match with 11 points and a rebound in a losing effort.

"Unang-una sabi ko nga sa teammates ko, pasensya na kasi ang dami din namin training, pero isa lang napuntahan ko kasi nga ito nga kasabay nitong The Hows of Us, kaya sabi ko pasensya na di na ako nakapasok ng training," Padilla shared.

"Pero at the end of the day happy pa rin kami kasi sa experience. Sino sino lang ba ang nakakalaro dito sa Araneta? So the chance, lalo na itong mga kaming frustrated players, eh thank you. Solid."

Former PBB housemate and De La Salle University player Axel Torres scored the most for the red shirts with 19 points.

Blue Team leader and Marikina Shoemasters shooting-guard Anderson tallied 24 points and eight rebounds.

"More than the performance eh yung team effort talaga eh. Lahat naglaro, lahat ginawa namin yung pinractice namin," Anderson said who is now a two-time-MVP in the annual Star Magic event.

Anderson's stat line in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League may still not be as stellar as this but his performance in the exhibition match just goes to show his promise for Marikina.

"Ang mapo-promise ko yung effort ko, katulad ng kanina, all I can promise is yung maibibigay ko every game."

Complementing Anderson's performance are Young JV's 22 points.

After three editions of the Star Magic All-Star game, the tally between Team Gerald and Team Daniel is now at 2-1.
