Bataan reinforced its place as one of the top teams in the league
Bataan has gotten for itself the first win in the first game outside Luzon in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.
Jeepy Faundo towered over the competition and the Risers topped Makati, 72-70in overtime last Saturday at the Lagao Gymnasium in General Santos City.
Former UST tower Faundo hauled in 14 points, seven rebounds, and a block and was backed up by Gary David and Byron Villarias who scored 15 and 14 markers, respectively.
It was Villarias and Pamboy Faundo who delivered the goods late in the extra period and shot Bataan over the Skyscrapers and onto a 6-1 standing.
John Rey Villanueva paced Makati with 15 points and eight rebounds. With the close loss, they dropped to 4-3.
Meanwhile, General Santos defended home court by downing Pampanga, 72-64.
Leomer Losentes fired 21 points on top of six assists and five rebounds for the now 3-4 Warriros.
The Lanterns fell to 3-5
