D-League stars Viernes, Banal lead Gilas 3x3 team in China

PBA D-League stars Jeff Viernes and Gab Banal will be leading the Manila Gilas 3x3 squad as they head to Shanghai for the Shanghai Challenger 3x3 tournament this weekend.
The event, which features 16 teams from Asia and Europe, will only be a two-day affair which will take place Sept. 7-8.
Viernes, the newly-crowned 2018 PBA D-League Foundation Cup MVP, and his runner-up Banal will be bolstered by Fil-Am Trevis Jackson, also from the D-League, and Jamal Thomas, who recently won the Vivo Hoopbattle Championships here in the country.
Manila Gilas 3x3 will be coached by Ronnie Magsanoc, who also steered the Philippines to an 11th place finish in the recently-concluded FIBA 3x3 World Cup at the Philippine Arena last June.
Magsanoc will be supported on the bench by assistant coach Xavy Nunag and will be taken care of PT Bryan Gatpandan.
