Team Pilipinas didn't catch many breaks in its almost week-long trip to Iran.
Gilas is now on a losing skid in the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers after taking a 73-81 beating against the streaking Iranians, Thursday.
To make matters worse, the national team's flight home got delayed by almost half a day.
Instead of arriving late Friday night, Gilas Pilipinas landed in Manila early Saturday morning, where they were greeted by the wrath of super typhoon Ompong.
Fortunately, it appears that the national team is safe and sound as they look to recover from that Iran loss that dropped the country's record to 4-3 in these Asian Qualifiers.
Recovery will not be long though as Gilas gets back right into action on Monday against Qatar at the Araneta Coliseum, which will be a closed-door affair to wrap up the opening window of Round 2.
