FIBA WORLD CUP: Wright, Aguilar back in Gilas 12 vs. Qatar
Team Pilipinas is bringing back Matthew Wright and Japeth Aguilar for the closed-door game Monday to continue round 2 of the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

Gilas Pilipinas' final 12 for Qatar is set.

Team Pilipinas is bringing back Matthew Wright and Japeth Aguilar for the closed-door game Monday to continue round 2 of the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

Wright and Aguilar are no longer suspended by FIBA following the Gilas-Boomers brawl back in July.

Joining the two national team mainstays for the clash againsr Qatar are Beau Belga, Alex Cabagnot, Paul Lee, JP Erram, Marcio Lassiter, Gabe Norwood, Ian Sangalang, Asi Taulava, and Scottie Thompson.

Stanley Pringle is Gilas' designated naturalized player for the Qatar game, taking over from Christian Standhardinger who led the Philippines with 30 points and 12 rebounds in the loss to Iran last week.

Aside from Standhardinger, the other cuts from the Iran game are Allein Maliksi, Raymond Almazan, and Greg Slaughter.

"It is a welcome development that Japeth Aguilar and Matthew Wright are back in the Final 12 after serving their one-game suspension imposed by FIBA," the Samahang Basketkol ng Pilipinas (SBP) said in its statement Sunday announcing the lineup.

Gilas is currently on a two-game skid in the Asian Qualifiers and its 4-3 record is good for third place in the merged Group F.
