After a rude welcome to the 2018 FIBA Asia Champions Cup by host Mono Vampire, the Meralco Bolts look to bounce back quickly Friday in Nonthaburi.

Meralco absorbed a 92-100 loss Thursday to Mono and the Bolts will continue group play against Alvark Tokyo at Stadium 29.

Alvark Tokyo, the reigning Japanese B.League champion, beat defending champion Al Riyadi to open its own campaign in FIBA-Asia's premier club-to-club tournament.

The Bolts engaged Mono Vampire to a tight contest all throughout before falling in the fourth period.

Meralco and Mono fought to a 70-all tie after three quarters but failed to sustain momentum in the end.

Tip off between the Bolts (0-1) and Tokyo (1-0) will be at 3:00 p.m. Manila time.
