Meralco is on the brink of elimination in the 2018 FIBA-Asia Champions Cup but all is not lost.

The Bolts, who are winless so far in Thailand, can force a three-way tie for second place in Group B Saturday, provided they beat defending champion Al Riyadi of Lebanon.

If Meralco can pull off an upset and Japan's Alvark Tokyo can take care of business against Thailand's Mono Vampire, then the Bolts will tie Al Riyadi and Mono with identical 1-2 cards.

Quotient and point system should then come into play to determine who joins Alvark in the semifinals.

However, Meralco has to win first and the Bolts have failed to do so in Nonthaburi, taking back-to-back losses to Mono and Tokyo.

The Bolts didn't get anything going in the fourth quarter in each loss.

Meralco will take the court against Al Riyadi Saturday in the main 9:30 p.m. game at Stadium 29.
