After the first week of US NCAA action, AJE Edu and Remy Martin have each played two solid games for the University of Toledo and Arizona State University, respectively.
Gilas Pilipinas cadets AJ Edu and Remy Martin showed off their wares in the early goings of the US National Collegiate Athletic Association basketball tournament.
After the first week of action, the Filipino-Nigerian Edu and the Fil-American Martin have each played two solid games for the University of Toledo and Arizona State University, respectively.
Edu is norming a respectable 6 points, 5.5 rebounds, in 14.5 minutes off the bench in his first couple of games for the Rockets as a rookie.
The 6'10" Edu came off the bench for the Rockets in his debut, scoring three points and grabbing two rebounds in just 10 minutes of action in Toledo's close 87-86 win over the Oakland Golden Grizzlies.
In his second game, the 18-year-old big man was more impactful, coming off the bench to flirt with a double-double, going for 9 points and 9 rebounds in 19 minutes in the Rockets' dominant 99-58 win over the Wilberforce Bulldogs.
Martin, meanwhile is coming off a successful rookie year with the Sun Devils where he was recognized as the Pac-12 Co-Sixth Man of the Year.
The six-foot point guard has been entrusted more minutes in his sophomore season, and he has been producing in Arizona State's first two matches, averaging 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists per game in a little over 29 minutes of action.
Martin came off the bench in the Sun Devils' first game, filling up the stat sheet with 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in 31 minutes as Arizona State survived Cal State Fullerton in double overtime, 102-94.
Remy then started for the Sun Devils in their resounding 80-52 win against McNeese State. He dropped 6 points, 5 assists, and grabbed 3 rebounds in 28 minutes.
