Paranaque draws first blood in NBL Finals

Parañaque defeated Dasmariñas, 85-71, to win Game 1 of the National Basketball League (NBL) Finals last Wednesday night at the San Dionisio Gym in Parañaque City.
Noy Bermudes tallied 26 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals for the Aces as they moved one victory away from capturing the first-ever crown of the league aimed at developing homegrown talents.
Parañaque went on a 13-0 run to start the fourth quarter on their way to the Game 1 win as the Aces can sweep the best-of-three series on Saturday, 5:45 PM at the Ugnayang La Salle Gymnasium in Dasmariñas City, Cavite.
Richmond Sunga had 13 points, and JR Quilatan also had 13 points and added seven rebounds and three steals for the Aces.
John Cantimbuhan had 22 points for Dasmariñas as the Ballers aim to win Game 2 on their home court and force a rubber match for the NBL title.
Before Game 2, the NBL will hold an awarding ceremony at 5 PM where the league will bare its first-ever Most Valuable Player as well as the Mythical Five winners. It will also unveil the NBL season trophy and the Hannah Pauline Mercado NBL Perpetual Trophy that goes to the champion squad.
