Despite developments on his PBA fate, Ray Parks Jr. expresses that he is still focused in his ABL stint.
2018 PBA Rookie Draft second overall pick Bobby Ray Parks Jr. is reportedly set to be traded by the Blackwater Elite to Meralco in a three-team deal also involving Talk ‘N Text.
Developments regarding his PBA fate may be moving but Parks expressed that whatever it is, as of now, he is still focused on Alab Pilipinas in the ABL.
"Wherever I fall I'll just deal with the cards dealt and go from there but my focus right now is with my stint in Alab and good thing we got the win," said the 25-year-old athlete.
"I totally have no idea what is going on right now pero as of now I'm just focused on Alab and I appreciate Blackwater for drafting me," he added.
The 6 foot4 point guard leaves it all to his agent Charlie Dy to do the negotiations on his behalf.
"Si boss Charlie na bahala sa negotiations and all that but it's great and I know boss Charlie will put me in the right position for sure. Siya naman bahala pero no one has reached out to me personally yet," he said.
However, amid his full expression of trust in the negotiations, he has also shared that he is anxious to know which team he will end up in.
"Gusto ko lang din malaman saan ako mapupunta. At the end of the day, sense of security. Pero as of now, I'm loyal to the team that drafted me, I'm loyal to the team that has my rights and we'll just go from there," said Parks.
The former UAAP two-time MVP who last played for National University in Season 76 in 2013 also shared his relief to finally end all the draft queries he received since he graduated from NU.
"Sa wakas tapos na ang tanong. Sawa na ako araw araw, tinatanong kailan ako papa draft of ayan nagpa draft na ako. Blessing naman," Parks said.
In the end, the two-time ABL Local MVP assured that despite a big PBA career waiting for him, all his energy is dedicated to Alab Pilpinas' title defense.
"Tatapusin ko muna itong Alab Pilipinas. Loyal ako sa Alab until this season, I enjoy being under Coach Jimmy, I enjoy being under the management of boss Charlie Dy so yeah it's a great position to represent the country," he said.
