Santi Santillan and Sean Manganti are just two of the handful of UAAP and NCAA stars all set to make noise in the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3
The UAAP and the NCAA have been home to many of the young talent all set to make waves on the next level.
Fortunately for us, we will get to witness some of those young talent in the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3 – the first-ever national tatluhan tournament.
From UAAP rivals, Ateneo’s Anton Asistio, Adamson’s Sean Manganti, UE’s Alvin Pasaol, and La Salle’s Santi Santillan now team up for Bataan.
NCAA Rookie of the Year Larry Muyang will stand front and center for San Juan.
Muyang is also teammates with Intramuros neighbor Cedric Pelayo from Mapua.
La Salle’s captain Kib Montalbo will have the same leadership role now in Quezon City.
Troy Rike, who just wound up a one-and-done tour of duty for NU, will suit up for Pasig.
The 12 pioneering teams in the league are the Bacoor Strikers, the 1Bataan, the Bulacan Kuyas, the Cebu-Max 4 Birada, the Manila Stars, the Marikina Shoemakers, the Pasig-Grindhouse Kings, the Quezon City-Zark’s Jawbreakers, the San Juan-Go for Gold Knights, the Valenzuela Classic, the Vigan Baluante, and the Zamboanga Valientes.
There will be six legs in the first conference which will start on February 16 in SM Megamall.
Throughout the first conference, teams will be ranked according to the point system set by FIBA and the top four automatically gain a quarterfinals berth.
In the end, at stake will be the President’s Cup trophy as well as PhP 1M.
The President’s Cup champion will then have a chance to represent the country in the FIBA 3x3 World Tour.
