Alab Pilipinas is now rolling once more in the 2018-2019 Asean Basketball League and for Renaldo Balkman, they’re not stopping anytime soon.
The Puerto Rican reinforcement turned in another powerful performance to propel the Filipinos right through home team Zhuhai all the way to a well-earned 100-81 win on Tuesday at the Doumen Gymnasium in China.
Balkman was on point from the get-go and wound up with a 34-point, 13-rebound double-double.
It was also him, alongside PJ Ramos, who uncorked the spurt bridging the second and third quarters that sent the Philippines ahead for good.
Playing without injured back-to-back Local MVP Ray Parks Jr. for the third game in a row, they also found welcome contributions from the likes of Lo Domingo and Josh Urbiztondo.
Still, it was Balkman who was the star of the show in Alab’s fifth consecutive victory and 11th overall in 13 games.
