Mighty Sports-Pilipinas has gone undefeated in the elimination round of the 2019 Dubai International Basketball Tornament.
Drawing contributions from its deep lineup, the Filipinos fought back from six points down in the last four minutes to frustrate Al Wahda Syria with a 85-81 come-from-behind win on Wednesday (Philippine time) at the Shabab-Al Ahli Club in Dubai.
Reinforcements Justin Brownlee and Randolph Morris yet again starred with the former finishing with 27 points, nine rebounds, theee assists, and two steals and the latter ending with 19 markers, six boards, three dimes, and two blocks.
When push came to shove, though, the Philipline locals also came up big, with Filipino-American high-flyer Jeremiah Gray, the University of the Philippines stud Juan Gomez de Liano, and former Asean Basketball League star Jason Brickman all contributing in the 15-5 run that turnes a six-point deficit into a four-point win
Mighty Pilipinas now heads into the quarterfinals without dropping a single game out of four. They get a day off on Thursday (Philippine time) before the playoffs begin on Friday (Philippine time).
