Renaldo Balkman was simply unstoppable in Alab Pilipinas' convincing victory versus Hong Kong
Alab Pilipinas has had all the answers to the problems put up by Hong Kong in the 2018-2019 Asean Basketball League.
Following the lead of Renaldo Balkman as always, the Filipinos re-asserted their mastery over home team Eastern in a 96-81 decision on Friday at the Southorn Stadium.
Puerto Rican reinforcement Balkman had 32 points, four rebounds, and four assists while back-to-back Local MVP Ray Parks Jr. had 23 markers and seven boards of his own.
Hulking Puerto Rican PJ Ramos also posted an 11-point, 14-rebound double-double for the Philippines which has now won seven games in a row.
They were joined by Ethan Alvano, Lo Domingo, and Josh Urbiztondo in the 15-5 run to begin the final frame that turned a two-point edge into an 88-76 advantage in their favor.
The home team would not be able to cut down the deficit to single-digits for the remaining three minutes.
With that pivotal push, Alab hiked its record in its head-to-head matchups with Hong Kong to 3-0.
More importantly, they improved their overall standing to 13-2 – still tops in the tournament.
