MPBL: Gerald Anderson’s South wins All-Star Game
Gerald Anderson and the South All-Stars win the 2019 MPBL All-Star Game.

The very first Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League All-Star Game was an experience that’s for sure.

In a game scheduled for Saturday but tipped off on Sunday, the South All-Stars came through in the second half to beat their North counterparts at the MOA Arena, 109-84.

Trailing after a competitive first half, South started to get some separation in the third, a period that ended with a last-second triple from Marikina’s Gerald Anderson

South used that moment to break the game open in the last 10 minutes, cruising for a rather comfortable decision.

Aside from a nice trophy and medals, the South All-Stars also took a cool P500,000 for their troubles.

The scores:

South (109) – Viernes 19, Banal 11, Eguilos 11, Juntilla 11, Yee 10, Anderson 9, Mabulac 8, Mangahas 7, Najorda 6, Cabahug 5, Tangkay 5, Balagtas 3, Masaglang 2, Melencio 2, Castro 0.
