Jalen Green will be back for more in next year's NBTC National Finals
Next year's Chooks-to-Go NBTC League National Finals presented by SM will still have Jalen Green in it.
That, if USA's top-ranked high school player himself is to be believed.
"Imma be back. I will come back," he told reporters at the end of the week-long national championship for high school.
Of course, there is more than enough reason for Green to come back as this year's national championship for high school had many memorable moments for him. "It was a great experience though we lost early. The dunk contest was fun too cause it was better than last year's," he shared.
He then continued, "Also, that dunk on Kai [Sotto]. We all had fun."
More than that, the 6-foot-6 swingman is also still out for revenge against Nazareth School of National University.
"Oh yeah, of course, I need a rematch with them. I didn't get to play them this year and we played them last year," he said. "It would be cool if we did again."
Back in the 2018 NBTC Nationals, the Bullpups knocked out Green and FilAm Sports in the quarterfinals.
In the 2019 NBTC Nationals, the two teams were on track for a semifinals showdown, but San Beda High School upset USA.
And so, NU instead downed the Red Cubs in the semifinals before besting La Salle Greenhills for back-to-back championships.
For their part, the now two-time defending national champions for high school are also wishing for another go-round with Green. "It's always an honor to play against Jalen. Seriously, we're grateful to play with him," Carl Tamayo said in straight English as he was seated right beside Green.
He then continued, "We’re just gonna keep on training and working hard. If they come back, we’ll beat them."
