Josh Urbiztondo has called it quits on the basketball court
"The Fireball" has been extinguished - on the playing court, that is.
Not long after Alab Pilipinas fell short of defending its title in the 2018-2019 Asean Basketball League, Josh Urbiztondo announced his retirement from basketball.
"I have finally decided to hang 'em up and retire from basketball," he said in an Instagram post last Thursday.
The now 36-year-old's last season as a pro had him posting per game counts of 5.4 points in 35% shooting from threes to go along with 3.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists for Alab in their quarterfinals finish.
A year before, Urbiztondo was a key cog as the Filipinos reclaimed the regional crown.
Six years before that, the 6-foot sharpshooter won a PBA title with B-Meg (now Magnolia).
