Ray Parks Jr. is the first and only three-time MVP in the ABL
Ray Parks Jr. has officially wrapped up one of the most, if not the most, storied stints in the history of the Asean Basketball League.
Parks Jr. hoisted his third straight Local MVP trophy, Sunday right before Game 2 of the Finals at the OCBC Arena in Singapore.
In the process, the Alab Pilipinas stalwart became the first-ever three-time MVP in the nine-year history of the regional league.
Yes, this is the first time that a player, whether it be a Local or a World Import, has been recognized as the best of the best.
His latest top individual award came after he posted per game counts of 16.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in the Filipino representatives' quarterfinals finish.
Parks Jr. has played his last game in the ABL as he is set to make his PBA debut for Blackwater in the looming 2019 Commissioner's Cup.
Other awardees of the season were longtime Singapore star Xavier Alexander as World MVP; Slingers big man John Fields, who once played for Kia, as Defensive Player of the Year; and Formosa's Dean Murray as Coach of the Year.
