Letran has stayed spotless after coming out on top of NU
With main man Jerrick Balanza out with injury, Colegio de San Juan de Letran turned to its other guys to get the better of National University, 76-69, Sunday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
King Caralipio and Renato Ular did nothing but come through with the former finishing with 12 points and eight rebounds and the latter ending with 10 markers and six boards. Those two also delivered the goods in the endgame as the Knights scored their third win in as many games in the 2019 Filoil Flying V Preseason Tournament.
Larry Muyang and Jeo Ambohot then took care of the paint, tallying a combined 13 points, 16 rebounds, and three blocks.
That total team effort more than made up for the absence of main man Balanza who was nursing a strained left knee.
For the Bulldogs, Issa Gaye and Shaun Ildefonso scored 14 points each. All of them went cold in the last two minutes, however, to fall in their first game in the preseason tournament.
