A new team from the south has joined the fray in Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3 presented by Coca-Cola.

Basilan Steel will be one of the 12 teams that will compete in the upcoming Patriots' Cup, the import-laden conference of the pioneering 3x3 league that commencing on June 16 at SM Seaside City Cebu.

"We are so excited to join Chooks 3x3. Ang tagline kasi namin ngayon sa Basilan is that we want to redefine Basilan," said Basilan team manager Jackson Chua. "Nakita namin yung reach ng liga natin and sakto siya sa goal namin."

Basilan will replace the now-defunct Pasay Voyagers.

Headlining the squad is fourth-ranked Filipino player Troy Rike who was part of President's Cup champions Pasig Kings.

Joining him are former Voyager Roosevelt Adams (Philippines no. 17), debuting Filipino-American guard Franky Johnson, and American import Marcus Hammonds.

Basilan joins the Zamboanga Valientes as the two Mindanao teams of the league.

And the Steel are hoping to shock the crack field come the Patriots' Cup. "We want to make the most of this opportunity to represent Mindanao. That is why we got top players for the Patriots' Cup," said Chua
