Rhayyan Amsali will be reppin' the Philippines in international competition for the second time in one month
Rhayyan Amsali is now the grizzled veteran of Gilas Youth.
The 6-foot-3 forward, along with Dave Ildefonso, has the most tours of duty for the Philippine national youth team at four.
From Under-16 to the oncoming 2019 FIBA Under-19 World Cup, he has been reppin' - and that's just exactly how he wants it. "Sobrang saya ko po kasi nakakasali ako lagi sa ganito. Ako naman po, ready ako para sa country parati at proud na proud talaga akong nakukuha ako sa team na ganito," he said.
And it's not only 5-on-5 that Amsali has proudly worn the flag.
In fact, he is fresh off being part of the Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 team that went 2-2 in the 2019 FIBA Asia 3x3 Cup in China.
Now, just almost a month after that 3x3 competition, he is transitioning back to 5-on-5 where he is ready and raring to take on the world's top young talent. "Ako po, readyng-ready naman ako kasi, parang aanhim mo pa yung training araw-araw kapag 'di mo naman ginagawa sa labas," he shared.
He then continued, "Basta para sa bayan, kayang-kaya."
