Mighty-GFG Philippines blasts off to strong start in 2019 Jones Cup

Mighty Sports-Go for Gold Philippines showed its might in just its first game in the 2019 William Jones Cup, manhandling Iran's Under-23 national team, 98-72, Friday inside Changhua Gym in Taiwan.
Former Phoenix reinforcement Eugene Phelps fueled the rout with 24 points while Filipino-American wing Jeremiah Gray impressed with 16 markers of his own, all but four coming in the first half, to go along with five rebounds, three assists, and three steals
They definitely weren't alone, however, as the Filipinos rode an 11-0 run to blow up a tight tally of 35-33 into an advantage of 46-33 in their favor.
Mighty-GFG Philippines would only step on the pedal from that point and even build up a lead of as much as 25, 76-51, in the third quarter.
Other reinforcements McKenzie Moore and Renaldo Balkman also added 15 and 10 points, respectively for the Philippines.
Up next for them is Jordan on Saturday.
