TERRIFIC 12: Stephenson leads Liaoning to big win over TNT

The one-time Laker dazzled Tuesday at the Tap Seac Multi-sport Pavillion in Macau, leading China’s Liaoning Flying Leopards to a win over TNT KaTropa.
MACAU — In the end, TNT couldn’t handle too much of Lance Stephenson.
The one-time LA Laker dazzled Tuesday at the Tap Seac Multi-sport Pavillion here, leading China’s Liaoning Flying Leopards to a 96-91 win over TNT KaTropa in the East Asia Super League’s The Terrific 12 tournament.
With the game hanging in the balance, Stephenson scored on a powerful one-hand slam to put Liaoning ahead, 83-77. Stephenson then added a steal and an assist on the next play for an eight-point Flying Leopards lead.
The KaTropa tried to make one last run at it in the final two minutes but the Flying Leopards would hold on to win this Group D showdown.
Lance Stephenson was an absolute treat for the Flying Leopards, wowing everyone with 31 points and eight assists.
Salah Mejri added 22 points and 11 rebounds for Liaoning while Tianju He and Mingchen Cong were goof for 10 points each.
TNT went import heavy on this one and McKenzie Moore scored 41 points on top of seven rebounds and five assists.
KJ McDaniels, the KaTropa’s import for the Governors’ Cup, was good for 32 points and nine rebounds. Jayson Castro and RR Pogoy each played less than 20 minutes for TNT while Troy Rosario sat the game out.
