TERRIFIC 12: Wells has 42 as SMB makes it to semifinals
Wells was simply terrific in his second game for San Miguel, leading the Beermen with 42 points and multiple highlight plays on both ends.

MACAU — It’s on to the the semifinals for San Miguel here for the East Asia Super League’s The Terrific 12 tournament.

The Beermen pulled away in the fourth and took down defending champion Ryukyu of Japan Thursday, getting a 101-92 win at the Tap Seac Multi-sport Pavillion.

With import Dez Wells and Terrence Romeo at the lead, San Miguel’s offense was just too much for the Golden Kings to overcome and the Beermen topped Group B with a clean 2-0 record.

San Miguel moves on to the next round Saturday where Lance Stephenson and the rest of the Liaoning Flying Leopards await.

Wells was simply terrific in his second game for San Miguel, leading the Beermen with 42 points and multiple highlight plays on both ends.

Terrence Romeo added 18 points for the Beermen while Lester Prosper was good for 15 points.

The Golden Kings got 34 points from Demon Brooks. After sweeping the Terrific 12 last year, Ryukyu bows out with a 0-2 record in 2019.
