Thirdy Ravena is the latest addition to Mighty Sports-Pilipinas brilliant collection of young talent
Add yet another shining star to Mighty Sports-Pilipinas' bright core for the 2020 Dubai International Basketball Tournament.
Thirdy Ravena is the latest addition to the Filipinos' young yet talented lineup for the invitational tourney tipping off on January 23.
Head coach Charles Tiu revealed the development on Twitter, Wednesday.
Excited to have @ThirdyRavenaaa join our Mighty Sports team in Dubai.— Charles Tiu (@charlestiu) January 8, 2020
Ravena will join forces with Gomez de Liano brothers Javi and Juan; 7-foot-2, 17-year-old Kai Sotto; Dave Ildefonso; Jamie Malonzo; and Andray Blatche for the Philippine team nothing but determined to improve on its third-place finish from a year ago.
Of course, coach Charles said they welcomed the back-to-back Finals MVP with open arms - even though they were already stacked at the wings. "It was a hard process because our lineup was already full, but how can you say no to a guy like Thirdy," he shared.
He then continued, "He reached out saying he wanted to play so we just had to find a way to make it happen. I know Thirdy has always wanted to play international ball and he's always wanted to play for Mighty."
Still, Tiu has full faith that Mighty-Pilipinas will find a way to make it work. As he put it, "Players are gonna have to make sacrifices, but that's what it will take to win."
