Home crowd boosts Cavite back on track in NBL 3

Cavite snapped its two-game losing skid over the weekend with an 82-78 win over Muntinlupa at home in the National Basketball League (NBL) Season 3 Black Arrow Express-President’s Cup at the General Trias Sports Complex last Sunday.
Riordan Jacob Galicia had 22 points and 11 rebounds, and Mark Sornet tallied 21 points in their first home game to carry the Ballers to their third win in five outings and occupy third place in the Group A standings.
The Ballers are behind defending champion Taguig (4-0) and CamSur (4-1) in the home stretch of the elimination round of the league’s first conference.
John Mark Ondevilla had 17 points, but his efforts were not enough as the Emeralds slipped to 2-3.
The Parañaque Aces, meanwhile, leaned on Jes Quilatan and Noy Bermudes to beat the Marikina Best Shoe Makers, 88-70.
Quilatan had 20 points, while Bermudes added 16 and the two combined for 7 of 11 from threes in the rout to give the Aces a 3-2 card.
In other results, Pampanga claimed its third straight victory, beating Zamboanga, 96-90, last Saturday in at the PACE Academy Gym in Quezon City.
CJ Gania collected 24 points and shot 4 of 7 from threes as the Delta improved their card to 4-1 and solidified their hold of second place in Group B behind idle La Union (4-0) as the Valientes slipped to 1-4.
Before its loss to Cavite, Muntinlupa picked up its second win after beating Quezon City, 94-71.
Danny Diocampo had 16 points, while Arnold Danga had 15 points for the Emeralds, who dropped the Defenders to a 1-3 in Group A.
