Justin Brownlee is finally formally back with San Miguel Alab Pilipinas, but his first game in the 2019-2020 Asean Basketball League will still have to wait.
Brownlee was already all set to re-debut in the regional league on Sunday when the Filipinos were supposed to travel to Vietnam for a matchup opposite the Saigon Heat.
That game, however, along with their matchup opposite Hong Kong on Wednesday, has been postponed due to COVID-19. "The ABL is adamant in following all travel restrictions imposed by governments of our member-countries," the league said in a statement on Friday.
This is the second time several games have been rescheduled due to COVID-19.
With that, Alab's next assignment will now be an away game against the Singapore Slingers on March 8. There, Brownlee and fellow new World Import John Fields will finally suit up for them.
The two will then play their first game at home against the Kuala Lumpur Dragons on March 10 inside Laguna's Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Complex.
