Due to the extension of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), the Chooks-to-Go National Basketball Training Centre (NBTC) National Finals and Coaches Convention, presented by SM, have been postponed once again to a later date.
"In light of the recent turn of events concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to once again postpone the National Finals and the Coaches Convention," said program director Eric Altamirano in a statement.
The National Finals, backed by Chooks-to-Go, SMART, Vivo, Darlington, Phoenix Fuels, Epson, Gatorade, Go for Gold, and Molten, was originally scheduled to take place from March 21 to 27 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. It was then rescheduled to April 20 to 26.
However, the government decided to extend the ECQ until April 30 which resulted in another postponement of the annual event.
"We are one with the government in preventing the spread of the virus and helping in flattening the curve," Altamirano said.
"Chooks-to-Go, NBTC, and SM are still in the process of finalizing the rescheduled date for the National Finals and the Coaches Convention. We assure that the participants and the public's safety is our utmost priority. We shall inform everyone as soon as possible about the new date for our tournament."
