Filipino cue artist Carlo Biado fell short in his World 9-Ball Championship title defense after losing to Germany's Joshua Filler, 13-10 in the Finals in Doha, Qatar Thursday.
The La Union native came as close as one-point down, 10-11 after falling behind early in the race-to-13 championship round.
But the 35-year-old eventually bowed down to his rival, even after posting convincing victories over Lin Wu Kun of Chinese-Taipei in the quarterfinals, and Shane van Boening in the semis.
Biado took the 9-Ball crown last year after dominating compatriot Ronald Garcia in an all-Filipino title clash.
