MANILA – Manny Pacquiao remains incessant at pushing for a Floyd Mayweather fight this year.
The eight-division world champion (57-5, with 38 victories by knockout) took a shot at Floyd Mayweather (47-0, with 26 victories by knockout) and the latter’s knack for boasting about his lavish ways through social media.
“Floyd brags about his lifestyle and everything! I don't care! I'm just waiting here for him to sign the contract!#fightpacquiao,” Pacquiao posted through his personal Instagram account on Monday.
This is not the first time “Pacman” made attempts to further fan the flames of their on-paper rivalry. In mid-December of the past year, the Filipino boxing superstar threw indirect tirades at “Money May”, who was then reportedly called a coward by his own son Koraun.
“2 reasons I want the Mayweather fight. 1. My oldest son Jimuel. He asked me before my career is over to fight Floyd first. I don't want my son to think of me as a coward. 2. The Fans. It is what everyone wants. I am going to do everything in my power to make the fight happen. God Bless!!” Pacquiao wrote.
Moments after the said post was made, Mayweather dropped the bomb on the boxing world when he publicly challenged Pacquiao for a May 2nd 2015 fight.
“We want the fight. We are ready. Let's make it happen,” Mayweather boldly declared in an interview with Showtime Sports’ Steven Farhood. “May 2nd. Floyd Mayweather versus Manny Pacquiao. Let's do it."
