MANILA – Muhammad Ali had something to celebrate about as he turned 73 years old on Saturday.
After being rushed to an undisclosed hospital on Friday for being unresponsive, the man simply known as “The Greatest” was eventually released the same day. The boxing legend’s family spokesman Bob Gunnell confirmed the news.
"He's home and resting and glad to be out of the hospital,'' Gunnell said in a statement.
Gunnell also added that the family "greatly appreciates the outpouring of support and continued well wishes."
Ali’s health has not been in good condition as of late. In December, he was hospitalized for a mild case of pneumonia. However, it was later found out that he was suffering from a severe urinary tract infection, instead.
Daughter Mayrum Ali also posted a photo of her and her father through her personal Twitter account.
“My father, aka. Muhammad Ali, is at home and looking forward to celebrating his 73rd Birthday tomorrow,” she wrote.
