Rios-Alvarado III finalized for January 24th

MANILA – For the third time, the world will be treated to a slugfest as Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios (32-2-1, with 23 victories by knockout) battles Mike “Mile High” Alvarado (34-3, with 23 wins victories by knockout) on January 24th.
In an announcement made by Top Rank Vice President Carl Moretti to RingTV.com, the rubber match is scheduled to take place at the 1stBank Center in Bloomfield, Colorado, wherein both fighters will be competing at the welterweight limit of 147 lbs.
Both men hold one victory a piece over each other, with Rios stopping Alvarado in the seventh during their first encounter in October 2012, while “Mile High” returned the favor five months later via a unanimous decision verdict, en route to the WBO interim light welterweight title.
After their second encounter, both Rios and Alvarado had involved themselves in high-profile fights. “Bam Bam” went on to face eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao in Macau, China in November 2013 where he was dominated for the entire twelve rounds of action, while Alvarado fought Juan Manuel Marquez in May, wherein he was also defeated by unanimous decision.
