MANILA – Talks about the highly elusive mega fight against Floyd Mayweather have not evaded Manny Pacquiao, no matter where he is in the world or who he is with.
Now in London for a promised dinner meet with Prince Harry, the eight-division world champion was once again broached about the question of whether or not the fight will push through as slated on May 2nd.
In a report by Danny Buenafe of ABS-CBN News, Pacquiao has extended his deadline for Mayweather from this month’s end to the first week of February to sign the contract. He also reiterated his agreement with the 60-40 split of the purse, which will go towards Mayweather’s favor.
Further reports have already stated that should the negotiations fail once again, Paquiao and Top Rank will either opt for former stablemate and sparring partner Amir Khan or undefeated WBC, WBA and Ring Magazine light welterweight champion Danny Garcia.
Meanwhile, Pacquiao and his wife Jinkee were extremely grateful with their opportunity to meet with one of the Royal Family’s heirs.
The Filipino boxing icon shared a snapshot of their experience through his Instagram account.
“Dinner with Prince Harry its so nice thank you Lord,” he wrote.
Pacquiao also lauded Prince Harry for the latter’s down-to-Earth demeanor.
"He is a nice and humble person,” Pacquiao claimed. “May God Bless you more Prince Harry it was a great experience thank you Lord."
