MANILA – The highly elusive mega fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao has been allegedly locked down.
After what seemed to be a week of progress these past few days when both boxing superstars met face-to-face at an NBA game, it has been reported that the deal has been finalized.
According to a report by TMZ Sports, Floyd Mayweather, whose signature has been long awaited, has finally agreed to the fight’s terms.
“Floyd Mayweather has agreed to fight Manny Pacquiao ... multiple sources tell TMZ Sports ... who say the two finally came to an agreement moments ago.
The two sides had been trying to hammer out a deal for a while to square off at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 2nd.
Manny had agreed to his contract weeks ago ... and it was all up to Floyd to sign on the dotted line.
But now, after meeting in person at the Miami Heat game earlier this week ... we're told it's a done deal .. and the two sides will make a formal announcement in the coming days.”
Top Rank chief Bob Arum went on record on Friday declaring that negotiations for the May 2nd showdown will likely be finalized by this week’s end. Rumors have also circulated that the formal announcement will be done during Sunday night’s (Monday morning, Manila time) Super Bowl game.
