MANILA - The unofficial mega bout numbers have been released.
Since its finalization on Friday night, Las Vegas put out its initial projection on its significant figures. In a report by ABS-CBN correspondent Bev Llorente, Top Rank Promotions is expecting gross earnings that amount to a grand total of $400 million. $300 million will be for figher purse, where the 60-40 split between both men will be coming from.
The five-year build up naturally boosted the fight's stock value immensely. Ringside tickets are projected to be priced as high as $5,000, and pay-per-view rates amounting to $100.
For his part, Pacquiao is more grateful for the opportunity to give the fans the fight that they have clamored to see.
"I am very happy that Floyd Mayweather and I can give the fans the fight they have wanted for so many years. They have waited long enough and they deserve it," Pacquiao said through Twitter.
In another report by Dyan Castillejo, Pacquiao had already begun his eight-week training camp in General Santos City.
Out of the projected total purse, Mayweather is expected to take home at least $120 million, while Pacquiao will have $80 million.
