MANILA - Manny Pacquiao will play on the scheduled Saturday PBA game with his team KIA Carnival before flying off the US to begin training camp.
In a report by Dyan Castillejo of ABS-CBN News, the eight-division world champion will suit up for KIA's 5 pm game against Blackwater Elite, before leaving for Los Angeles. Pacquiao will kick off the eight-week camp at Freddie Roach's Wild Card gym in West Hollywwod.
But prior to his departure, the team's biggest attraction had only one message for his comrades in his absence: to give it their best and never give up.
"We have to be the champion," Pacquiao told import PJ Ramos.
The Filipino boxing superstar also offered a short message for Floyd Mayweather, who celebrated his 38th birthday on Tuesday.
"Happy birthday, and hopefully, he finds God."
