MANILA - Donnie "Ahas" Nietes will be facing a new opponent for Pinoy Pride 30.

In a report by Ronnie Nathanielsz for Philboxing.com, the reigning WBO light flyweight champion (34-1-4, with 20 victories by knockout), was originally slated to face WBC International Silver light flyweight champion, Mexico’s Luis “Gallito” Ceja (26-5-3, with 21 victories by knockout) for the March 28th event.

However, WBO Championship Committee chairman instead ruled for Nietes to face mandatory challenger Francisco Rodriguez Jr. But due to Rodriguez's unavailability for the said date, Nietes will now be fighting number 13 ranked Gilbert "Parrita" Parra of Mexico (19-2, with 17 victories by knockout).

Parra has been on a four-fight win streak since 2013, beating the likes of Jose Isabel Gomez and Ricardo Armenta, just to name a few. His last fight was against Maximino Flores on February 14th, with the bout ending in a no contest verdict after Parra suffered a cut above the left eye in the second round.
