MANILA - "The Filipino Flash" is set for his arrival in the country on Sunday, March 1st.
Nonito Donaire (33-3, with 21 victories by knockout), will be facing Brazil's William Prado (22-4-1, with 15 victories by knockout) on March 28th, as the headliners for Pinoy Pride 30, an event organized by ALA Promotions.
It will be Donaire's first bout in home soil since 2009, and a comeback fight at 122 lbs at super bantamweight.
Upon his arrival, Donaire will be attending to media obligations with ABS-CBN for the next three days. He will then fly off to Cebu City, where his training camp will be held.
The five-division world champion last fought in October 2014, in a disappointing stoppage loss against Jamaican knockout artist Nicholas Walters for the WBA Featherweight title. As the bout also marked his first ever knock out defeat, Donaire was urged to move back to super bantamweight, upon the advice of his trainers.
