On March 28, two international boxing talents will be part of the Philippines' biggest boxing event of the year as Mexico's Gilberto "Parrita" Parra faces Donnie "Ahas" Nietes for the WBO World Jr. Flyweight Championship, while Brazil's William Prado squares off against former five-time champion Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire for the vacant NABF Super Bantamweight Championship at Pinoy Pride 30

Parra already had some interesting fighting words for Nietes during the media workout session, and the the Mexican remained confident in during the Pinoy Pride 30 press conference, saying that the bout against the longest reigning Filipino boxing champion is a very big opportunity for him.

“In the ring, as soon as the bell rings, it’s only Nietes and me, it’s a golden opportunity for me to show what I have.”

For Parra, it won't all be about him, as he enters the ring representing his home country of Mexico.

“This is a step that I have to give, and I represent the best of my country. I am prepared and I am ready to put on a good fight. “

Parra will be coming into the bout with Nietes with a five-fight unbeaten streak, with three wins coming via TKO.

Prado on the other hand, sees this as just another day in the office, and doesn't seem to be fazed by the Filipino Flash.

“I think it’s a fight, like all the other fights, only it’s a different opponent.”

And while he maintains that he does respect his decorated opponent, Prado reminded everyone at the presser why he's here.

"I respect him a lot, but I am here to give a good fight, that’s every important to me. I expect to fight round by round.”

This Saturday, Parra and Prado will look to take care of buisiness in the as they face off against two of the Philippines' best sluggers in Nietes and Donaire.

Pinoy Pride 30: D-Day will take place on March 28, Saturday, 6 pm at the Araneta Coliseum and will be televised on March 29, Sunday, 9:45 am on ABS-CBN channel 2 and 9 pm on ABS-CBN Sports+Action channel 23.

Tickets are available at Ticketnet outlets.
