MANILA - Still oddly silent throughout the entire fight promotion, Floyd Mayweather finally shed light on some current issues surrounding him and his training camp.
The reigning pound-for-pound boxing king held his media workout on Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila Time) at the Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas. He took some time to answer some questions from the media, particularly on reports regarding a cut lip and fractured rib he supposedly sustained during previous sparring sessions.
"I've been boxing, I don't have a cut lip," Mayweather told the reporters in attendance. "My hands are great, as you can see. Everything's going great."
"I've had a tremendous training camp. My sparring partners (are) pushing me, my dad has been there helping me."
Another notable sighting during the media event was Mayweather's t-shirt bearing the colors of the Philippine flag complete with the trademark sun rays. When asked if there was any message behind it, Floyd Jr. gave a rather diplomatic response.
"No message. I'm always for every country. I love the Philippines, Japan, Africa. I love all countries, all nationalities."
