After dismantling William Prado in his March fight in the Philippines, Nonito Donaire will be taking on his next task in Macau this July.
In a report by Fightnews.com, “The Filipino Flash” (34-3, with 22 victories by knockout) will be facing number one ranked super bantamweight Hugo “Cuatito” Ruiz (35-2 with 31 victories by knockout).
While it has not been made final, the report adds that Donaire and Ruiz may likely fight for the WBC super bantamweight title, which is set to be vacated by current champion Leo Santa Cruz when his would-be move to featherweight is made official.
Reportedly present in the card as well is fellow Filipino-American Brian “The Hawaiian Punch” Viloria, whose opponent has yet to be determined. Viloria last faced Mexico’s Jose Alfredo Zuniga in July 2014 in Macau, where he won by fifth round knockout.
