It looks like both Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Oscar De La Hoya had almost taken the entire world for a ride.
Mayweather had recently issued a rematch challenge for “The Golden Boy”, which was being targeted for September of this year. It will also be for Mayweather’s possible swan song and the final fight in his lucrative six-fight deal with the Showtime network.
This, after De La Hoya himself expressed his intent to make an unprecedented comeback at 42 years old.
Hours after Mayweather’s challenge, De La Hoya aired his response through his own Instagram account.
De La Hoya lost the bout via split decision, a verdict that remains controversial to this day.
