Even Timothy Bradley wants in on the action.
The past couple of weeks in the boxing world have been revolving around one man: Gennady Golovkin. The Kazakh superstar has impressively racked up a 33-0 record, with 30 victories coming by way of knockout.
The first one to show his intent to face “GGG” was Oscar De La Hoya, who says he “feels amazing” and is willing to come out at retirement. This, at 42 years of age and being out of action for seven years.
Floyd Mayweather also talked about a possible scenario between him and Golovkin, but simply said that he would be “too smart” for his younger and relatively less-experienced adversary.
Now, former WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley is also welcoming a possible fight against Golovkin.
“I just figured that since everybody starts stuttering and [getting] scared of Golvokin, I figured I would say ‘Shoot, he’s not too far from where I’m at.’ Thirteen pounds, let’s get it on.”
“Desert Storm”, however, says everything needs to be in the right terms for this plan to push through.
“If everything’s right, why not?”
Bradley will be facing undefeated WBA light welterweight champion Jesse Vargas this weekend at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.
