After a decisive performance against Anthony Settoul on Saturday night in Macau, China, Nonito Donaire has positioned himself for another title run.
This time, he is being prepared to face the undefeated WBA super-bantamweight champion Scott Quigg, who also won on Saturday night with via second round TKO.
Upon being informed about the possible fight, “The Filipino Flash” showed the same air of confidence which was seemingly carried over from his victory over the weekend.
“Ready ako,” Donaire told ABS-CBN News correspondent Dyan Castillejo. “Kailangan pa ng kaunting training pero im happy because I'm thinking now better.”
Both Donaire Jr. and his father Nonito Sr. are fully satisfied with the outcome of Saturday night’s bout. The two have mainly attributed their success to Nonito’s compliance with the game plan, something which they had trouble with in the past.
“Napagaralan ko siya. Happy ako kasi i used my patience, hindi tulad dati. I don’t listen to my dad before,” Nonito Jr. said.
According to Top Rank chief Bob Arum, they are looking at either Dubai or England as the fight’s possible venues for November.
