Former welterweight world champion and known as one of the more infamous opponents of Floyd Mayweather, Victor Ortiz was arrested in Pasadena, California over the weekend, TMZ Sports says.
According to the report, Ortiz was with his brother attending a Kenny Chesney concert when he got in an altercation with a civilian. The reason behind the fracas was not made clear, but it was specified that the boxer inflicted physical harm by kicking the yet unidentified man when he fell to the ground at one point of their confrontation.
“Cops arrested Ortiz and his brother during the concert for felony assault with a deadly weapon -- the weapon being Victor's foot,” an excerpt of the report reads.
Ortiz, who also appeared in the film “Southpaw” alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, was eventually released upon posting a $30,000 bail.
