When usually asked about his next opponent in mind, Manny Pacquiao’s response remains constant: “It’s all up to my promoter.”
Earlier this week, Top Rank chief Bob Arum did put out his verdict on “Pacman’s” next opponent in a fight scheduled for next year.
“This kid Amir Khan keeps shooting his mouth off about Manny Pacquiao,” Arum told The Telegraph. “I can arrange for Khan to fight Pacquiao.”
Khan, who happens to be a former stable mate of Pacquiao’s at the Wild Card Gym under Freddie Roach, has been clamoring for a fight with the first and only eight-division world champion. Recently, he once again stated his case on why he should get the said fight.
“I’ve changed a lot in my style, whereas Manny Pacquiao is still the same fighter as he was - because he's always been with Freddie Roach,” Khan said in a separate interview. “Having a change of trainers is not a bad thing. Every trainer is different. It would make the fight interesting though.”
As for Arum, making the fight between Pacquiao and Khan seems to be a way easier task to deal with. So much so that he already has a venue in mind.
“Vegas is a possibility, but more likely in the Middle East. It won't be in Dubai but it will be in the Middle East. If not, we'll do it in Vegas.”
"There's two different groups in the Middle East (wanting to host the fight),” Arum added. “I’d like to do Pacquiao against Amir Khan but they'll take Manny against any decent guy."
